Project Vision
“Good lighting adds space, depth, mood, mystery, change of emotion, and intimacy easier than by any other method” - Norman Bel Geddes
Lighting is one of the most crucial elements of the home environment.
My goal was to create a system capable of providing dynamic lighting for any occasion (or emotion) by making the color, location, and intensity, all easily adjustable in the hands of the user.
The AEROS Lamp - How it works
The Aeros Lamp will normally live on the home dock, where it receives power magnetically through a corded connection
When light is desired elsewhere, the base can be plucked from the dock and can be placed on any surface, receiving power from the internal battery
The form, articulation, and light adjustments are mainly mechanical, allowing for simple, fine, and intuitive light manipulation

Features
The home dock provides power to the lamp while being a sturdy base that still allows for rotation
Home Dock
The base acts as a comfortable carry point for the lamp, and the rubber tip deforms to resist wobble and unwanted rotation
Non - Slip Base
The position of both bulb and damper can be tweaked to adjust the amount of direct light, diffusion/dampening, as well as the direction of the reflected light.
Bulb and Damper
The head slits can be either aligned or staggered to adjust the amount of light emitted through them
Head Slits
The brightness works the upper vertical slide, while the warmth can be adjusted by twisting the bottom knob

Resistance Adjustable Joints
The amount of force it takes to rotate the joints can be raised or reduced depending on the desired use
